I Stand On Bended Knee

I stand on bended knee
A time I feel I should
honored in the presence of humility
cathartic in his swelling eyes
To see the struggle to maintain strong
To hear the voice I did not share
I stand on bended knee

I stand on bended knee
This hope I feel is from defeat
To say the worst to fear a man
Only to show they are but simpleton
The make up of you and me
All who say good words at a battle well fought
and for that I stand on bended knee

I stand on bended knee
Along with those beside me
Who felt the need to say their piece
To see the result rise within me
A first I'm yet to forget
A nation finally free
I stand on bended knee

I stand on bended knee
For what the day may end in
For let it be blessed
That a nation so known for trouble
Has something they feel best
History I did not procure
Yet did not fail to seize
So I stand on Bended knee

I stand on bended knee
As my forefathers have taught me
Gracious is the winning streak
Honest in the conquest
Success always a formality
Humility a process
For this alone I learn to rise
And cherish the loss I mark
Forgiven be the righteous
Who now stand with opposition
Let the bell of Liberty toll
May my hand on heart mean more
Never I so proud to demand
And with this I shall
STAND
